幼い頃から、自由に描くこと、つくることに没頭するタイプ。

学生時代からこれまでに訪れた24の国で多くの刺激を受け、
大学卒業後の5年間の会社員生活を経て、ものづくりをすることに。

ニューヨークのヴィンテージ倉庫に出入りする中で集めた
ガラスのカボションを元に 「こんなピアスがあったらいいのに」
と自身で描いたデザイン画を送ったのをきっかけに、

米国 ニュージャージー州のアトリエにてジュエリー製作を学ぶ。
手織りについても同州で学び、以降、独学で活動を続ける。

名古屋市在住。

「自分は生まれる前にこの世界でなにをやるか
　ある程度決めてきたのでは」

幼い頃からそう思っていましたが、人生の紆余曲折を経て
「きっとそうだな」という確信に近い想いに変わっていき、
今回 ブランドメッセージを新たにしました。

自分ではコントロールできない人生の大きな波を経験するたびに、
見えない力とでも言うべき不思議な展開を体験してきました。

また、日常生活でのふしぎな体験から量子論・量子力学という
分野のことを知り、この世界はちいさい頃から思っていたような
すごくおもしろい仕組みなのかもしれない、という気付きも。

「しあわせってなんだろう」
「わたしはどう在るべきなんだろう」

「わたしって、物を売りたいのかな？」

そうして 考えて 考えて 出てきた答えは、

ものづくりに取り組むこと、わたしの作品をお届けすることは
ただファッションを楽しむというだけでなく、

身につけることで自信となり、より本質的にしあわせな人生を送る、
そのきっかけの一部になってほしいという願いでした。

山あり谷あり、ふしぎでおもしろいこの物語。
誰のものとも違う、ご自分にとって最高の人生を思い出して歩んでいく
お供にしてもらえますように。

そんな願いを込めながらお作りしています。

・あれもこれもとデザインしては作るのが止められない様子と、

・自分は食べるものでしかできていないということ
  （毎日レーズンを食べているのでブドウを）、

・どういう言葉に触れて、なにをどう考えるのか
  （知識の象徴として本を）、

というわたし自身が大切にしていることを @nozomi_artworks さん ( instagram )
にイラストにしてもらいました。

この絵（本ページ 最下部参照）で見えている部分だけでは一方向ですが、
わたし自身もまた 関わってくださる皆さまからいただく光のスポットライトに、
日々、たくさんの気づきや学びをいただいています。

そうして、お互いにおもしろいストーリーを創造していけたら
最高だな、と思っています。

今後、皆さんにどこかでお会いできますように。

I have loved free-drawing and handicrafts since childhood.

In college, I used to be a backpacker, and the lasting inspiration of the 24 countries I visited and the people I met led me to become an artist after working for 5 years as an office worker.

While frequenting vintage warehouses in NY, I collected vintage glass cabochons and sent my own design sketches to the jewelry atelier, thinking, "I wish there were earrings like these." It was the origin of my career.

After learning jewelry making and hand-weaving in NJ, USA, I founded whoopie roux and have been working for myself ever since.

I now live in Nagoya, Japan.

Ever since I was a child, I have contemplated whether I perhaps wrote the script for my own life before coming into this world.
I had some skepticism towards this idea for some time, but, after experiencing some of life's challenges and detours, my skepticism turned into a kind of conviction. Every time a major wave of change broke in my life, I experienced a mysterious sense that this and subsequent events were somehow directed, in a way ( and it leaded me to study about quantum mechanics ). This feeling inspired me to explore a new direction for whoopie roux’s brand message.

Life has its highs and lows; it’s sometimes strange, but always interesting. Only you know the best path for you, and it will be a journey that is very unique to you.
I design and craft every whoopie roux piece by hand and with care, hoping they will serve as seeds of confidence for people to live a happy and meaningful life. It is my desire that each piece act not just as an accessory, but remain a strong ally to help you remember who you really are, and lead you to your fantastic story.

The symbolism behind my portrait with many hands (drawn by @nozomi_artworks / instagram):
• I am ceaselessly thinking of new designs and am always making something (hence, the tools)
• I value what I choose to eat and drink because my body consists of what I have (for instance, I have raisins everyday, so grapes are included in my portrait)
• I also think it’s important what words and wisdoms I expose myself to, as well as how I channel and incorporate them into my way of life (therefore, the book)

While I am shining a spotlight on the individuals pictured below, a spotlight also shines on me from somewhere up above, or from someone outside of this picture. Or it could be both, as we can often shift our perspectives throughout our lives! I believe that, together, we can create a great performance through such interactions.
